Multi-instrumentalist Ed Hopwood forges a sound grounded in roots music, with a style all his own. Drawing on elements of blues, zydeco, and bluegrass, he effortlessly weaves them into a highly original live show.
His trademark suitcase drum, alongside guitar and breathtaking harmonica playing, has taken him to festivals such as Celtic Connections and Shambala, as well as London venues including The Union Chapel and The Green Note, in addition to several European tours.
Ed also leads his distinctive blues trio, The Rigmarollers, who recently released their second album. The group has attracted attention from BBC Radio 2’s Cerys Matthews, who counts herself among their supporters.
"Hopwood has a gift for playing minimally yet utterly musically at the same time"
